After more than 30 years with horses, Josee Brault and her
team share a distinctive balance with their animals.
About WillowCreek Stables
WillowCreek Stables was founded in 2007 originally as a boarding stable and riding school for kids and adults in St. Lazare. We found in developing our methods of teaching that people were looking for a real and deep interaction with horses. Teaching riding was not going to be good enough.
So we upped our mandate and started teaching students how to become trainers. In other words, they were taught how to read and communicate with the horse from the ground up. Once in the saddle, the relationship they had with their horses was much more productive and cohesive. But, by observing our students and their interactions with their horses, we understood as well that the horses were teaching as many or more lessons than we were trying to teach them. More than any animal I have seen, people come away from an experience with horses awed, inspired and energized in a very unique way.
Over the course of a few years we decided to change farms and moved to larger acreage. WillowCreek II as we affectionately called it was a diamond in the rough. After two years of intensive clean up and construction WillowCreek has become a peaceful haven where even non-riding folks can come and spend time in the beneficial energy of the farm.
Whether you’re interacting with one of our gentle horses, playing with the goats, chasing a bunny, sitting in the garden watching the hummingbirds or lazing under the expansive willows beside the fresh running creek, Willowcreek is a perfect place to regroup your own energies and go back into your “real life” with a renewed sense of purpose and connection.
Peace ~ Josee and the Gang.
